About the Center
Mission

The Virginia Center for Diabetes Professional Education (VCDPE) has been a unique resource for providers of diabetes care in Virginia since 1987. The mission of the Center is to improve the quality and quantity of health care available to persons with diabetes in Virginia through the provision of professional education, assistance in program planning and development, and provision of educational resources relating to diabetes. Located at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, its programs are supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia and benefit health care providers throughout the state. Its multidisciplinary staff, representing endocrinology, nursing, nutrition, and psychology, bring a variety of essential expertise to the Center's educational programs and services. We encourage providers who are interested in the Center's programs to contact us for more details on how we might be of assistance.
Goals

To develop and support organizational efforts in Virginia aimed at reducing the burden of diabetes.
