Diabetic Cholesterol Drugs and Medications: Once High Cholesterol has been diagnosed it is important that treatment begin immediately. Treatment will likely include the use of Statin drugs such as Lipitor, Lipidil, Lipidil EZ, Mevacor, Pravachol, Zocor, Lescol, Torvast, Crestor and Altocor to name a few of the more popular drugs. As well, a change in diet plan and exercise can be very helpful in dropping high cholesterol levels. Once on the drugs, regular liver function tests and fasting cholesterol tests must be performed, usually every 3 – 6 months, in order to modify the treatment if necessary.
