Diabetes Center
The Athens Regional Diabetes Center promotes positive health and well being to persons with diabetes and their families. In 1999, the Center's self-management education program was awarded recognition from the American Diabetes Association. The award assures the public that the diabetes education program, an essential component of effective diabetes management, meets rigorous ADA standards. The Center Coordinator is a Certified Diabetes Educator committed to teaching the importance of self-care to prevent and minimize complications of the disease. The Diabetes Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Group classes are offered monthly and individual consultation is available upon referral by a physician.
