About Us

Camp Ho Mita Koda, founded in 1929, is one of the oldest residential camps for children with diabetes in the United States. The camp's programs are designed for children with diabetes to have fun, make friends, and learn about diabetes. Each session offers recreational activities and diabetes education.

Camp Ho Mita Koda is a subsidiary of the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, a local nonprofit organization, not affiliated with the American Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Camp Ho Mita Koda's residence camp is proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association, complying with 300 national health, safety, and program quality standards.

Camp Ho Mita Koda's summer programs include:

* Residential programs for children ages 6-15 with type 1 diabetes
* One-day Mini Camps for children ages 4-8 with diabetes and their parents
* Residence camp for teenagers ages 12-17 with type 2 diabetes
* Teen Weekend for teenagers ages 16-19 with type 1 diabetes
