Cashew, pumpkin and mango all good for diabetes

Conventional man-made diabetes drugs are essential for many diabetics to manage their disease. However, this does not mean that natural extracts and herbal remedies are useless, and many have been confirmed as being particularly effective when it comes to controlling or aiding the control of, blood glucose levels. Mango, cashew and pumpkin have all recently been subjected to scientific tests.
A South African study conducted at the University of Durban found that Cashew stem bark could be efficient in reducing blood glucose concentrations. The results were published in the journal Methods and Findings in Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology. The effects were said to be a direct result of terpenoid or coumarin contained in the bark.
Fluted pumpkin leaves were the subjects of another study, conducted at the University of Ilorin. Published in the African Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences, the study found that these leaves had comparable effects to the drug chloroproamide. Mango leaves were also studied at the University of Ilorin, and found to have the ability to control blood sugar levels.
A whole variety of other herbs and plant extracts have been proven to influence diabetes, including re hogweed, garlic, aloe vera and various types of tree bark.
