These two diseases mentioned above are now being endemic in our country. Not a single house is spared and this is because of lack of awareness and Ignorance.

Nice to see your response, the reason I made this forum was to increase awareness and to wash out the myth in mind of people, I was expecting the same kind of response. It never that if you eat extra sugars you will be diabetic. If one is diabetic he should avoid sugar but sugar is never the cause of diabetes. As far as hereditary role is concerned, yes it has a role but Type II diabetes can occur even without family history.

Hypertension may be divided into primary and secondary. Primary (or essential) hypertension is by far the most common type, representing more than 90% of cases. Secondary hypertension may be iatrogenic (oral contraceptives, steroid therapy) or may be caused by renal parenchymal disease, renal artery stenosis, and endocrine causes
Hypertension can cause retinal artery occlusion.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common constituting 90-95% of all diagnosed cases of diabetes.Type 1 diabetes mellitus is the most prevalent type of diabetes among children and young adults.
Duration of diabetes is the most important factor for the development of Diabetic Retinopathy(DR); 98% of patients with Type 1 diabetes and about 60% of patients with Type 2 diabetes will develop DR after 20 years
Diabetics are more prone to get infections & wound healing is delayed .
