MGH Diabetes Treatment Center
The MGH Diabetes Treatment Center is one of the oldest outpatient clinical centers in the country dedicated to the comprehensive treatment of persons with diabetes.
After training with the legendary Dr. Elliot Joslin, Dr. F. Gorham Brigham established the Diabetes Clinic at the MGH in 1919, several years before the Joslin Clinic was established. Although many elements of diabetes care have changed since that time, the dedication of the Diabetes Treatment Center to provide the best comprehensive care for people with diabetes has not wavered.
The Diabetes Center currently handles approximately 9,000 patient visits per year.The usual age range for Diabetes Center patients begins at age 18.
