The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, in conjunction with the Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center and other Medical Center units, offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and educational programs in the general area of endocrine and metabolic disorders. This program includes diabetes and its complications, obesity, osteoporosis, endocrine tumors and endocrine hypertension as well as the traditional endocrine specialties in thyroidology, adrenal disorders, male and female reproductive problems, growth hormone disorders, hirsuitism and neuroendocrinology.

Among the specialized programs are:

* A multidisciplinary outpatient and residential obesity program
* A multidisciplinary program for intensive insulin treatment of diabetes mellitus
* Multidisciplinary clinics for patients with diabetic complications
* A multidisciplinary program for thyroid disorders
* A multidisciplinary program for diabetes and pregnancy
* An outpatient endocrine testing unit for the performance of endocrine and metabolic stimulation, suppression and tolerance testing
* A comprehensive outpatient education program for patients with diabetes.
