New York State Stem Cell Science
New York State Stem Cell Science works to further the agenda of the Empire State Stem Cell Board, established in April 2007 by Public Health Law Article 2, Title 5A. The statute created the ESSC Board within the Department of Health for the purpose of administering grants for basic, applied, translational or other research and development activities that will advance scientific discoveries in fields related to stem cell biology. Stem cells have the potential to repair or replace specific tissues or be used to develop disease models.
