The multi-disciplinary Diabetes Education Centre is located at Lions Gate Hospital. This team helps people with diabetes to live healthier lives through a range of services and supports including educational programs and individual counseling. This support includes information on lifestyle issues, how to manage diet, and how and when to monitor blood glucose levels at home. The Diabetes in Pregnancy Program helps women with diabetes (gestational, type 1 or type 2 diabetes) to manage their blood glucose levels to ensure a safe pregnancy and healthy baby. Clients must be referred by their doctor.
