Podiantry Arena Forums on Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Welcome to the Podiatry Arena forums, for communication between foot health professionals about podiatry and related topics.

About Podiantry Arena:

History

Podiatry Arena was started in August 2004 by Craig Payne in recognition of the need for a site such as this to serve the profession. Since then it has grown into the largest, fastest growing and most active Podiatry forum. It is also the most visited Podiatry website on the web

Purpose

The purpose of Podiatry Arena is to provide a resource with all the latest news, research, theories, ideas and discussions for Podiatrists and other foot health related professionals. We are always striving to improve Podiatry Arena and enhance the users experience. If you have any suggestions for improvement, either contact us or post a comment in the Help, Suggestions, Comments and Ideas forum.

Why Arena?

The name came about as there was an already negatively orientated Podiatry Forum, so that name was taken. 'Arena' was chosen as it conjoured up the imagery of a Roman forum where great debates take place, and this theme was further developed in the current and previous banner or logo used for Podiatry Arena.

Not a Podiantrist?

If you are not a podiatrist, then it does not matter. We have health professionals from many disciplines (eg orthopedic surgery; physiotherapy; general medicine; chiropractic; pedorthics; nursing; footwear retailers) from many different countries participating. All that matters is the quality of the contribution, not the background.

However, what we do not permit here is the posting of messages from people seeking help for their own foot problems. We suggest posting at the Foot Health Forum to get help

As much as we would like to help, the aim is for this forum not to be overtaken by specifc patient complaints (look at the numbers posting in the Foot Health Forum), so this forum can stay focused on communication BETWEEN podiatrists and other foot health professionals. There is nothing wrong with Podiatrists or other health professionals seeking advice about particular complex patient problems.

Occasionaly someone has posted a message about their own foot problem and it has taken time for a moderator or an admin to notice it and Podiatry Arena members have taken the time to reply. In light of this the thread is usually left as effort has been expended by Podiatry Arena members. This is the exception and almost all theads will be deleted.

There is also the legal issue of providing online advice which has not been resolved in some countries, so we just do not want to go that way.
