As with any medication, there are potential side effects of glyburide and metformin, including abdominal pain (or stomach pain), diarrhea, and nausea. Most people, however, tolerate the medication well. When glyburide and metformin side effects do occur, in many cases they are minor and easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. If you experience more serious side effects -- such as chest pain or symptoms of low or high blood sugar -- you should report them to your healthcare provider.
