The Diabetes Center, located at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with Pitt County Memorial Hospital and with other providers throughout eastern North Carolina through University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina. Staff at the center conduct basic and clinical research into issues involving diabetes. The Diabetes Center is part of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine.
The center's diabetes education program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association.
Current Clinical Trials
Volunteers are being recruited for clinical trials, or studies, in two areas:
* Foot ulcers

Diabetic neuropathy (pain, numbness, burning or tingling in feet)
