What is the U.S. Diabetes Conversation Map Program?
The U.S. Diabetes Conversation Map tools were created by Healthy Interactions in collaboration with the American Diabetes Association and are sponsored by the Merck Journey for Controlâ„¢ program. Conversation Map tools engage people with an interactive verbal and visual, group learning experience, which can enable them to better internalize information. The group setting and interactive discussion provide the flexibility to discuss topics that are most relevant to the participants. Discussing challenges and successes with other people build confidence and reinforces the fact that they are not alone.

About the Merck/Healthy Interactions Partnership
Healthy Interactions Inc., a global leader in health education, and Merck & Co., Inc., a global research-driven pharmaceutical company devoted to putting patients first, announced in November 2006 a multi-year relationship to transform how healthcare professionals engage patients in learning about diabetes and to improve Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) among patients. The original partnership committed to training and equipping 10,000 healthcare professionals with the U.S. Diabetes Converstion Map tools over three years.

In response to strong positive feedback from health educators across the country, Healthy Interactions and Merck will now undertake training and equipping thousands of additional healthcare professionals with the U.S. Diabetes Conversation Map tools. The enlarged effort also provides for the debut of the Spanish version of the U.S. Diabetes Conversation Map tools, developed to help connect with the nearly three million Hispanics and Latinos with diabetes in the U.S. For more information on Merck's Journey for Control program, visit http://www.journeyforcontrol.com.
