Workplace Giving
Workplace Giving

Many companies offer their employees the opportunity to give to charities of their choice through the convenience of payroll deduction. This includes federal, state, county and other local government employees, as well as employees in the private sector.

By choosing to give to the American Diabetes Association through your workplace, you are helping to improve the lives of the more than 21 million Americans with diabetes. Here's how to participate.

Federal Government Employees

Employees of the Federal Government and member of the military can support the American Diabetes Association through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) which typically runs from September to December.

When selecting which organization to contribute to, please be sure to choose #11235 to designate the American Diabetes Association in your community. There are several diabetes organizations that participate, so to ensure that you're giving to ADA, you will need to select our national code - #11235.

This is a new number for the American Diabetes Association. This year, all charities participating in the CFC have received new five digit codes to replace the previous four digit codes. So, if you had planned to use the old codes from last year, don’t! Please use the new code - #11235.

Local, State, County, Municipal Government Employees

Local, state, county, municipal and school board employees should check with their local campaign administrator to see if the American Diabetes Association is included, or contact Greg Wright at 1-800-676-4065, ext.3437.

Workplace Giving (Non-Government Employees)

Community Health Charities - Many employers provide their employees the opportunity to give through payroll deduction to the charity of their choice. Some work with federation partners such as Community Health Charities or United Way, while others may run the campaign themselves or use a company to manage the campaign.

The American Diabetes Association is a proud national member of Community Health Charities (CHC). In partnership with CHC, we work with companies to make it easy for you to support our mission with a contribution through payroll deduction at work.

We are also in employee campaigns independent of the CHC, or in some markets, through the United Way.

View a partial list of employers that already include the American Diabetes Association as a Workplace Giving option.

If you don't see your employer on the list, there are two ways you can help get the American Diabetes Association added to your Workplace Giving options:

* Contact your charitable employee-giving coordinator and let them know that you would like to contribute to the American Diabetes Association through your Workplace Giving program.

* Or contact Greg Wright at 1-800-676-4065, ext.3437 or gwright@diabetes.org and he will work directly with someone from your company to get the American Diabetes Association added to your Workplace Giving options.

Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable gifts, so your gift may actually double in size! Find out if your company has a matching gift policy, and ask your campaign coordinator if they match gifts through payroll deduction.

Would you rather donate directly to ADA?

We realize some people would rather donate directly to us instead of having their charitable giving go through a third party.

By signing up for a recurring donation directly through ADA, your donation is charged to your credit card every month. Your donation is still tax-deductible and 100% of your donation goes to the American Diabetes Association which funds community-based programs.

Signing up for a recurring donation is easy. Give a general donation. During the process, you will have the opportunity to select how often a donation occurs.

Whichever way you choose to give, we thank you for remembering the American Diabetes Association.
