Diabetes Fundraising – Illinois: Illinois participates in local events and national campaigns for diabetes research. In addition to research, the dollars raised provide support programs for diabetics and their families that teach them nutrition and healthy food preparation, Type II diabetes prevention, and how blood sugar control can help prevent diabetes complications like chronic renal failure or cardiovascular disease.
