Diabetes and Student Resourcess: Students who suffer from diabetes can have unique difficulties in school such as trying to test blood glucose levels, taking medication such as insulin, and eating frequent meals and snacks. Not all schools and states have policies that help with these and other diabetic specific problems but many do. Parents should check with teachers and the school nurse to find out what arrangements can be made to assist their child in coping with diabetes at school.
