WOUND CARE SERVICES & DIABETES MANAGEMENT
Since 1998, Beebe Medical Center’s Wound Care Services Department has provided services for the community. Beebe Medical Center’s Wound Care Services offers interdisciplinary
and comprehensive wound care treatment. It is estimated that
an average of 5 million people suffer from chronic wounds. This statistic doesn’t take into account the many people who suffer from wounds that go untreated. Patients may have wounds
that can lead to serious infection, gangrene, and, possibly, amputation.
Additional services offered by Beebe Medical Center’s Wound Care Services/Diabetes Management include:
* Community Screenings/Assessments
* Wound Care
* Foot & Nail Care/Hygiene
* Footwear Assessment
* Diabetes Management Classes
* Individual Diabetes Consultation
* Ostomy Care & Education Consultations
* Follow-up Care.
The Wound Care Services/Diabetes Management team works in close collaboration with the individual's primary care physician. Referrals are required. Team members include Bonnie Cunningham, APRN, BC, Director; Margaret Gatti, MSN, FNP, APRN, BC; Tanya Crawford, RN, BSN, CWOCN; Denise Lawson, R.N.; Theresa Bradley, MA; Christina Trout, ACNS-BC, CDE; Patty Bradley, RD, CDE; Terry Foster, Senior Referral and Insurance Verification Specialist; Paula Corso, Senior Referral and Insurance Verification Specialist; and James E. Spellman, Jr., MD, Medical Director. The Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to care and works collaboratively with other Beebe Medical Center Services.
Wound Care Services/Diabetes Management hours are by appointment only.
