Welcome to the American Diabetes Association Camp Colorado website! Camp is held every year during the last week of June/first week of July. Camp Colorado 2009 will be held from June 28-July 3, 2009. Glad you came! Here you will find helpful information about how to apply for camp (if you’re a new camp parent be sure to check out the FAQ section), how to become a volunteer, or how to donate money to continue to make Camp Colorado a reality for hundreds of youth and teens with diabetes. Camp Colorado joins the Facebook online social network!
The new video that was recorded this year as well as some of the best camper and volunteer photos are now posted. Join up as a friend and make it easy for you to stay in touch with other Camp Colorado campers, counselors and staff. The site it set to private though so you will have to ask to be included as a friend. In respect of the privacy of the site please do not forward photos to others outside of the “friend” network.
American Diabetes Association to launch Colorado Day Camp in 2009!
If your child with diabetes is still too young to attend the Camp Colorado residential camp program then you may want to consider the ADA 2009 Day Camp. The Day Camp will be for campers age 5-12 and will be open to siblings and friends as well. Camp will be held for a week (date to be determined) and will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. The week will be full of fun activities for the campers and will include several day trips to local area attractions as well as cool speakers. If you have a child between the age of 5-12 please e-mail April Henderson at aphenderson@diabetes.org to be added to the mailing list. More information to come as plans are solidified!
Join the Camp Colorado Step Out:Walk to Fight Diabetes Team
Every 20 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes. Whether diabetes affects you personally this staggering statistic affects us all and will continue to until we find a cure for this devastating disease. Help the American Diabetes Association’s nationwide efforts to end diabetes by joining us as we Step Out to Fight Diabetes. Become part of the Camper’s Steppin’ Out walk team or start a team of your own. This year, every man, woman and child living with diabetes will be recognized as a Red Strider. All Red Striders receive a free Red Strider T-Shirt and water bottle as well as a goodie bag, but most importantly they represent the reason we do what we do at the American Diabetes Association. Registration is easy! follow these simple instructions and join us today!

Camp Colorado 2009 Mailing list (If your child has already attended Camp Colorado you are automatically included in all upcoming mailings.)
If you would like to be added to the Camp Colorado mailing list for 2009 please send an e-mail to April Henderson, Camp Director at aphenderson@diabetes.org with the following information:
1. Your name
2. Your child’s name
3. Your child’s date of birth, current age, and type of diabetes
4. Your home mailing address and phone number
5. Your e-mail address
Camp brochures and applications will be mailed at the end of February and registration starts at the beginning of March and goes through the middle of May or until camp is full. Register early to ensure that your child has a place at Camp Colorado 2009!

Next year Camp Colorado will be held from Sunday, June 28 - Friday July 3, 2009. Register early as space is first come, first given and fills rather quickly! We will be doing online registration again and when that process begins will have a link to the registration page from this page (to save you clicking time).
