Camp Roanoke is nestled within 700 acres of the
beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in western Roanoke
County, conveniently located just off Interstate 81
exit 132.

Carilion Diabetes Management Program, provides a summer camp for children and young adults
(ages 7 – 16) who have Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. The camp focuses on having fun and helping campers accept their diabetes as a part of their daily living.

Through the camp, which offers both Day Camp and Residential Camp, participants learn to interact with others, improve coping skills and challenge themselves. Camp Too Sweet is designed to meet the social, recreational and educational needs of young people with diabetes

Staffing
The camp is staffed by licensed health professionals and graduates of outdoor recreation programs.

Activities include swimming, crafts, games, educational sessions, art activities and a special afternoon event. Snacks are provided each day. Meal plans will be outlined in a packet mailed to your home after the application form is received.
