The Camp for Diabetic Children of Eastern Quebec (CEDEQ) is a non-profit organization that has been organized since 1975. We offer an exceptional camp experience for diabetic children ages 9 to 15.
As well, since 1989, families of diabetic children under the age of 9 have also been able to enjoy the social, recreational and educational experience of a camp weekend dedicated just to them and their families.
In a stimulating setting, CEDEQ invites young diabetics and their families to learn and deepen their knowledge about diabetes while taking advantage of support found only in the dynamics of a group.
Youth Camp
A multidisciplinary team of health care professionals, composed of doctors, nurses and dieticians, supervise the control of diabetes by means of medication, teaching, food and physical exercise. This team is present, attentive and available 24 hours a day during the camp. Campers are taught diabetes self-management skills in a fun, interactive, safe environment.
Family Camp
The family camp experience allows parents of young diabetics to help tame the disease and to better adapt to the daily reality of diabetes by acquiring information and support.
Financing
In order to ease the participation cost for the most number of young diabetics, CEDEQ carries out a yearly fundraising campaign. This activity allows the organization to fund 50% of the cost of each of the participants in the youth camp.
Please feel free to contact us to obtain more information on our camps and our activities that take place in french only.
