Diabetes Centre - Nipissing District - North Bay General Hospital
The Diabetes Centre is a member program of the Northern Diabetes Health Network and is administered by the North Bay General Hospital.
The purpose of the centre is to provide assessment, education, support and counseling to individuals with diabetes and their families in a multidisciplinary outpatient setting.
Education, provided by appointment, includes individual consultation with Diabetes Educators (nurse and dietician), group education classes, and diabetes awareness presentations. The North Bay Office also has drop-in services and an Independent Learning Library.
The full time service at the North Bay Office provides a Paediatric Diabetes Team consisting of Paediatricians, Nurse, Dietician and Social Worker, as well as referral centre for Diabetes & Pregnancy.
