Diabetes New Zealand
Diabetes New Zealand has produced a new resource for people with Type 2 diabetes called Staying well with Type 2 diabetes. Following feedback about the usefulness of all our smaller pamphlets, this is now our only resource for Type 2 diabetes and any complications, but, of course, we do still have our very popular nutrition resource, diabetes and healthy food choices.

You can order our pamphlets from Diabetes Supplies Ltd, phone 0800 342 238, and see our full range of pamphlets here.

7th International Diabetes Federation Western Pacific Region Congress
The 2008 International Diabetes Federation Western Pacific Region Congress was held in Wellington from 30 March to 2 April. Around 2,000 delegates registered for the Congress, which makes this Congress one of the biggest health-related conferences ever held in New Zealand.

Around 70% of the delegates were international visitors and the Congress featured innovative presentations, topical discussions and the latest research from around the Asia Pacific region. The theme was Asia Pacific: Working for Solutions, and the programme had something for everyone, from people with diabetes, primary healthcare workers, researchers and specialists.

This has been a successful and informative Congress, and Diabetes New Zealand is keen to see the issues raised taken up at government and community levels.
