Has anyone been told they have this? I used to have high BP and took meds. Now my BP falls to 79/53 out of the blue and I stay sick and dizzy. I sweat at night til I'm soaked. If you have it, please let me know what is being done for you. Every time I go to the hospital with this problem my BP is high from panic and they think I'm crazy. Any help?

Hi Marie,
Diabetes can affect the signal the body tries to send to change its heart rate if there is a blood pressure problem. First make sure that there is no other problem that may need attention. For low blood pressure issues, many people find it helpful to wear waist-high support stockings or fitted elastic hosery. Be sure to put the stockings on before you get up. This will help keep your BP from dropping quickly. There are medications available that can help deal with heartrate changes. In other countries, vitamin A, B12 and B6 and evening primrose oil are sometimes given. Maintaing your blood sugar level in a healthy range is the most important treatment of all.
Speak with your doctor about possible options.

Marie,

Some people have white coat syndrome which means high blood pressure in the doctor's office and too much medication. Do you check your blood glucose during these low blood presure events?
