" I have had many problems with my teeth also. I have lost all my teeth except for the most forward. Now they are getting thinner and chipping. My dentist said it is mainly due to diabetes and that those teeth are not meant for chewing. I need to get implants on both sides to even out my chewing area. alas it's too expensive!
I know the last several times I had a tooth pulled the dentist was saying I needed a root canal. I refused because the last four root canals I had done had to be pulled. So I'm like why go the cost and agony only to loose them in the end.
Oh well enough whining:)
So know you are not alone with this. All I can say is try to keep your sugars in check, your teeth as healthy as possible. I heard mentioned calcium supplements.
Good luck,
Linda "

" Yeah, it tends to improve when you get your readings under control. Sugar feeds germs and germs eat your teeth and gums. The quickest thing you can do to reverse the destruction is stop using toothpaste and use table salt instead. Toothpaste is made with glycerin which softens the gums and makes them more vulnerable to infection. It's also made with SUGAR which is of no help to man or beast.
Table salt feels like sandpaper until the gums start to harden up, which happens in about a week of regular use. The salt not only hardens the gums, it sterilizes and fights infection. As usual use a soft brush, but pay a lot of attention to the gums as well as the teeth when you brush.
I have had diabetes for 15 years and since I started doing this I have been the ONLY patient on my dentist's caseload with zero gum disease. "
