Tenth Annual Dream Gala
Committed to the Cure
What: The Rocky Mountain Chapter's Tenth Annual Dream Gala, one of the most highly anticipated social events in Denver, chaired by Don & Jennifer Baldridge, will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency at the Colorado Convention Center. More than 600 upscale professionals and dignitaries will attend the black tie event from the Rocky Mountain Region. The Dream Gala will commemorate 10 years of the event with a very chic, hip reflection of the "Jewels of the Decade". The ballroom will be accentuated by a fresh motif and will feature an array of Martinis and other special treats during the pre-function and silent auction with surprise entertainment guaranteed to get you moving toward the dance floor during and after an elegant dinner and live auction.
Who: We are grateful for the support of our presenting sponsor, DCP Midstream. Their commitment to JDRF and the community has set the tone for what will be a spectacular event and one you won't want to miss. DCP Midstream is joined by Delta Dental of Colorado, KEW Realty, Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Wagner Equipment Co., Sage Hospitality Resources, Humana Inc., and many others who are dedicated to finding a cure.
The Goal: Our target for this Tenth Annual Dream Gala is to raise $1 million or more for research toward a cure for diabetes. Diabetes is the nation's most expensive chronic disease, afflicting millions with complications like blindness, kidney failure, severe nerve damage, amputation, and shortened life expectancy. Diabetes accounts for 10 percent of corporate healthcare costs and 25 percent of Medicare expenses. Approximately 35 children are diagnosed with diabetes each day in America.
The Local Impact: JDRF funds more than $3 million annually to research grants in Colorado through the Barbara Davis Center and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. DCP Midstream is dedicating a large portion of the money raised during the Tenth Annual Dream Gala to research projects being conducted here in Colorado. Money raised will benefit more than 5,000 children locally.
