Clinical studies have shown that some people may experience low blood sugar or reactions at the injection site while using Lantus. Side effects of this medication tend to be minor and are generally easy to treat. However, some side effects of Lantus should be reported to your healthcare provider right away, including seizures, difficulty breathing, and difficulty speaking.
An Introduction to Lantus Side Effects
As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Lantus® (insulin glargine). However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, many people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, they are often minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Lantus. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Lantus side effects with you.)
