The Pacifica Lions Club for the past 30 years has sponsored an annual rummage sale to benefit community activities. This year's event will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15 at 1265 Linda Mar Shopping Center.
Some great items have been donated for the sale, including a china display cabinet, living room furniture, dinette set, books and large assortment of new and next-to-new large size women's clothing. Hundreds of boxes of miscellaneous household items are being moved from storage.
All proceeds will benefit such programs as local baseball and soccer teams, the city's Junior Olympics, eyeglasses for the underprivileged, senior lunchs, high school scholarships and comperships for the visually and hearing impaired youth.
"The Pacifica Lions Club has a strong legacy of providing philanthropic support to children, seniors and our community," said Lion Shirlee Gibbs. "Through fundraising efforts, such as our annual rummage sale, we have been able to defray the programs for the blind, the deaf and those afflicted with diabetes."
