In addition to Minnesota RxPrice Compare which lists local prescription medication prices, this site provides information about accessing lower-cost prescription medicine from Canada .
On Dec. 31, 2008, the Total Care Pharmacy contract will expire and TCP will no longer participate in Minnesota RxConnect. Services are available from the other participating pharmacies.
Minnesota RxPrice Compare includes generic alternatives
Minnesota RxPrice Compare now displays local pharmacy prices for brand name, generic equivalent and therapeutic alternative medication options. The consumer tool compares the "usual and customary" prices of 400 commonly used prescription medications. Some brand name medications on this site include a list of generic medications that may be cost effective alternatives to the more expensive brand name medication. A printable list of alternative medication in other categories is included.
