Event Information
The NYC Tour de Cure is back and better than ever! Last year, Tour de Cure raised over 16 million dollars nationwide to support our mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all those affected by this disease. With 1.2 million New Yorkers affected by diabetes we need to put our pedal power to work! In 2009 the NYC Tour de Cure will delight everyone from the occasional cyclist to the experienced rider. The Tour begins in Morningside Park on the Upper West Side and continues to the Cloisters in Fort Tyron Park. For those seeking a longer distance, our 32 mile route will take you into the Bronx through some of its more famous landmarks like the Bronx Zoo, the NY Botanical Gardens and Van Cortland Park. If you're looking for a greater challenge, the 62 mile route will take riders through some of the most amazing landscapes, lakes and mansions of southern Westchester County and will provide a difficult but refreshing trek.

Our start/finish line will celebrate our riders’ return with music, comedy performances from some of New York’s funniest stand-up comedians, catered food, relaxing massage, cheering sections and so much more! Register today to be a part of this healthy and wonderful day of fun and excitement for the whole family.

Be a Team Captain
Form a Friends and/or Family Team and increase the amount of fun and excitement you'll enjoy! Corporate Team participants enjoy riding and fund raising together while bringing a sense of corporate pride and developing strong relationships. It’s easy to start your own team—go to the “Team Up” page for more information.

Top Fundraisers
Aside from the thank you gifts awarded to all of our supporters that raise over $200, this year the NYC Tour de Cure will award top individual riders that raise $1,500 or more with access to the Champions for Diabetes tent. The Champions tent will feature catered food, massage, personal bike mechanics and more. Our top teams that raise $5,000 or more will be awarded with their very own team tent. Your tent will bear your team name, and will be your very own private haven to enjoy with your team members, family and friends.
