Support Groups
Support groups give people with diabetes a forum for sharing ideas, concerns and feelings about living with this chronic disease. Support groups also can be a source of inspiration as people find commonalities with others who face the same challenges.

The University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center currently offers the following support groups:
Taking Control
* Support group for young adults age 21-35 living with type 1 diabetes.
* Offered quarterly throughout the year.

Living With Diabetes
* Support group for adults age 35 and older living with type 1 diabetes.
* Offered every other month.

Coping With Diabetes
* Support group for individuals living with type 2 diabetes.
* Offered quarterly throughout the year.

Coming Soon! Support groups for teens, families and caregivers.

Fast Facts about diabetes classes:
* All group classes last approximately 90 minutes.
* Support groups are open only to patients of the University of Chicago Medical Center and their family members and/or significant others.
* All support groups are held at the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center.
