NovoLog Mix50/50: NovoLog Mix50/50 is a combination of rapid-acting insulin and intermediate-acting insulin that lowers blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. It is injected up to three times daily prior to meals. Patients need to be aware of and know how to recognize low blood sugar symptoms. In order to prevent serious side effects, monitor your blood sugar levels with a glucose monitor while you are using insulin or other diabetic medications. Many health insurance plans will cover the cost of a glucose monitor.
